These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of https://sgandg.com and the recipes, articles, tools, calculators, images, videos, product recommendations, comments, downloads, emails, and other content made available by Smoke, Griddle & Grill (“SG&G,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) (collectively, the “Site”).

By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. Eligibility

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the Site only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. A parent or guardian who permits a minor to use the Site is responsible for that use.

2. Permitted Use

You may access and use the Site for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms. You agree not to:

violate any law, regulation, or third-party right;
submit unlawful, infringing, defamatory, threatening, deceptive, abusive, obscene, or harmful material;
send spam, malware, or other disruptive or unauthorized communications;
attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its systems, accounts, or data;
interfere with, damage, overload, reverse engineer, or circumvent the Site or its security features;
misrepresent your identity, affiliation, or relationship with SG&G;
copy, republish, sell, or commercially exploit Site content except as expressly permitted by these Terms or applicable law; or
use automated means to scrape, harvest, build a dataset from, or use substantial Site content to train or evaluate an artificial-intelligence or machine-learning system without our prior written permission, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by law.

We may restrict or suspend access, remove content, or take other reasonable action when we believe these Terms have been violated or the Site, SG&G, or others may be harmed.

3. Informational Content; No Professional Advice

The Site is provided for general informational, educational, and entertainment purposes. It does not provide medical, nutritional, dietary, legal, financial, engineering, professional-safety, or other professional advice. Site content is not a substitute for advice from an appropriately qualified professional who understands your circumstances.

You are responsible for your decisions, cooking practices, equipment use, food handling, storage, dietary choices, and purchases. Always use reasonable judgment, follow product labels and manufacturer instructions, maintain and operate equipment safely, and consult qualified professionals when appropriate.

4. Recipes, Cooking, and Food Safety

Recipe times, temperatures, measurements, yields, textures, and results are estimates and may vary based on ingredients, substitutions, equipment, calibration, altitude, weather, fuel, food size and starting temperature, cooking surface, and technique.

Cooking with knives, raw food, heat, electricity, pressurized equipment, open flames, hot oil, grills, griddles, smokers, and other equipment involves inherent risks. You are responsible for:

using properly maintained equipment in a safe and suitable location;
following manufacturer directions, ventilation requirements, fire codes, and burn-prevention practices;
preventing cross-contamination and washing hands, surfaces, and tools appropriately;
checking doneness with an accurate food thermometer rather than relying only on time, appearance, texture, or a recipe image; and
following current food-safety guidance from authoritative sources such as the U.S. Department of Agriculture and your local health authorities.

BBQ tenderness targets and suggested finishing temperatures do not replace applicable safe-minimum cooking temperatures. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SG&G is not responsible for illness, allergic reaction, burns, fire, equipment damage, or other harm caused by unsafe preparation, handling, storage, substitutions, equipment use, or failure to follow authoritative safety guidance.

5. Allergies and Dietary Information

Recipes may contain or come into contact with milk, eggs, wheat, soy, fish, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, gluten, alcohol, or other allergens. Ingredient formulas, labels, manufacturing practices, and cross-contact risks can change without notice.

Unless expressly stated, we do not guarantee that a recipe is allergen-free or suitable for a particular medical condition, religious practice, or dietary program. Even when content uses a label such as gluten-free, keto, vegetarian, low-sodium, or similar, you remain responsible for checking every ingredient, product label, preparation surface, and substitution and for obtaining medical advice where appropriate.

6. Interactive Tools and Calculators

The Site may provide temperature charts, meat-per-person calculators, cooking-time estimators, sous-vide guidance, comparison tools, selectors, checklists, and similar interactive features. Their outputs are estimates based on limited inputs and general assumptions. They cannot account for every food-safety variable, equipment difference, serving need, health condition, or real-world circumstance.

Do not use a calculator or tool output as the sole basis for a safety-critical decision. Verify food temperatures with a reliable thermometer, follow authoritative food-safety guidance, and use your own judgment.

7. Product Recommendations, Affiliate Links, and Advertising

The Site may contain product recommendations, advertising, affiliate links, sponsored links, and other commercial content. If you click an affiliate link or make a qualifying purchase, we may receive a commission or other benefit, generally at no additional cost to you.

When SG&G has a material connection with a brand or retailer—including payment, commissions, free or discounted products, gifts, or another benefit—we will disclose that connection clearly and conspicuously where appropriate. A general statement in these Terms does not replace a disclosure that should appear with the relevant recommendation or endorsement.

Recommendations reflect our opinions, research, experience, or editorial judgment at the time of publication. A commercial relationship does not guarantee a positive review. Product prices, availability, ingredients, designs, specifications, warranties, safety information, and seller terms can change. You are responsible for confirming current information and deciding whether a product is appropriate for you.

SG&G is not the seller or manufacturer of third-party products and is not responsible for third-party ordering, payment, delivery, returns, warranties, defects, recalls, misuse, or customer service. Your transaction is governed by the retailer’s or provider’s terms.

8. Sponsored and Gifted Content

The Site may include sponsored posts, brand collaborations, paid promotions, product samples, event access, discounts, or gifted products. We will disclose material connections as required by applicable law. Sponsored or gifted status does not mean that results are guaranteed or that every reader will share our experience.

9. AI-Assisted Content

Artificial-intelligence tools may assist with brainstorming, organization, editing, formatting, graphics, image concepts, or other production tasks. SG&G reviews and approves material before publication, but AI-assisted material may still contain errors, omissions, or visual differences from actual ingredients, products, equipment, or results. Do not treat an image as proof of a safety condition, product feature, or guaranteed cooking outcome.

10. Intellectual Property

The Site and its original content, branding, selection, arrangement, explanatory text, photography, graphics, videos, downloads, designs, and other protectable expression are owned by SG&G or used with permission and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Nothing in these Terms claims ownership over facts, ideas, methods, or other material that applicable law does not protect.

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to view the Site and to print or save reasonable portions for your own personal, non-commercial cooking use. You may share links to Site pages and brief attributed excerpts where legally permitted. You may not reproduce entire articles, photographs, videos, downloads, or substantial portions of the Site; remove notices; create commercial derivative works; sell or redistribute Site materials; or imply SG&G’s endorsement without prior written permission.

All third-party names, logos, brands, and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Reference to a product or brand does not imply sponsorship or endorsement unless expressly stated.

11. Comments and Submitted Content

If the Site allows comments, feedback, messages, photos, suggestions, or other submissions (“User Content”), you retain any ownership rights you have in that content. You represent and warrant that you own or control the necessary rights and that your User Content does not violate law, these Terms, or another person’s rights.

By submitting User Content, you grant SG&G a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable license to host, store, reproduce, edit, adapt, publish, display, distribute, and otherwise use that content in connection with operating, moderating, improving, and promoting the Site and SG&G. This license continues for content already used or included in backups after deletion, to the extent reasonably necessary, but does not override rights that cannot legally be waived.

Comments may be public. Do not post confidential, sensitive, or personal information that you do not want others to see. We may review, refuse, edit, or remove User Content, but we are not obligated to monitor every submission. We do not endorse and are not responsible for opinions expressed by users.

12. Copyright Complaints

If you believe material on the Site infringes your copyright, email contact@sgandg.com with the subject line “Copyright Complaint” and include:

your name and contact information;
identification of the copyrighted work or a representative list of works;
the specific URL and enough detail to locate the allegedly infringing material;
a statement that you have a good-faith belief the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for the owner; and
your physical or electronic signature.

We may remove or restrict material while reviewing a complaint and may contact the submitter or complainant. This section is a reporting procedure; it is not a representation that SG&G has registered a designated agent or qualifies for a particular statutory safe harbor.

13. Third-Party Services and Links

The Site may link to or embed retailers, advertisers, affiliate networks, social platforms, videos, maps, recipe sources, and other third-party services. We do not control those services and do not guarantee their content, terms, privacy practices, accuracy, security, availability, products, or conduct. Your use of a third-party service is governed by that party’s terms and is at your own risk.

14. Downloads and Digital Materials

Recipe cards, charts, guides, checklists, templates, printables, and other downloads are licensed for personal, non-commercial use unless expressly stated otherwise. You may not resell, redistribute, upload, publicly post, or claim them as your own. We do not guarantee permanent availability, compatibility, or error-free operation.

15. Email Communications

If you subscribe, you authorize SG&G to send the email content described at sign-up, which may include recipes, Site updates, product recommendations, affiliate links, and promotions. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in a marketing email. Administrative or legally required messages may still be sent where permitted.

16. Privacy and Cookies

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. Our Cookie Policy explains the Site’s use of cookies and similar technologies. Those policies are incorporated into these Terms by reference.

17. Site Availability and Changes

We may update, correct, suspend, discontinue, or change any part of the Site without notice. We do not guarantee that content will remain current, complete, available, secure, or error-free, or that links and downloads will continue to work. We may correct errors and update content after publication.

18. Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT, TOOLS, DOWNLOADS, AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. SG&G DISCLAIMS IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AVAILABILITY, AND QUIET ENJOYMENT.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions. In those jurisdictions, the exclusions apply only to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.

19. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SG&G and its owner, contributors, affiliates, partners, and representatives will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill; personal or property damage arising from risks you knowingly assumed; or claims arising from Site use, recipes, food handling, allergies, tools, downloads, equipment, products, advertisements, affiliate links, User Content, or third-party services.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SG&G’s aggregate liability for claims arising out of or relating to the Site or these Terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid SG&G, if any, for the relevant Site service during the 12 months before the claim or $100.

These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot legally be limited, including where applicable liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. Your jurisdiction may provide additional rights.

20. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SG&G and its owner, contributors, affiliates, partners, and representatives from third-party claims, liabilities, losses, damages, judgments, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the Site, material violation of these Terms, User Content, infringement of another person’s rights, or misuse of Site content, tools, or downloads. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim results from SG&G’s own gross negligence, willful misconduct, or other conduct for which indemnification cannot lawfully be required.

21. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Site or particular features when reasonably necessary to protect the Site, comply with law, address security or technical issues, or respond to a violation of these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including intellectual-property, warranty, liability, indemnification, dispute, and general provisions—will survive.

22. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to any rights you cannot waive under applicable law, disputes relating to the Site or these Terms will be brought in the state or federal courts with appropriate jurisdiction in Palm Beach County, Florida, and you consent to their personal jurisdiction.

Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking appropriate temporary or injunctive relief or limits a consumer’s non-waivable right to bring a claim in another forum.

23. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Site, our practices, or applicable law. The updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. Changes apply prospectively from the date posted unless stated otherwise. If required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent. Your continued use of the Site after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the changes.

24. General Terms

These Terms and the policies incorporated by reference are the entire agreement between you and SG&G concerning the Site, except for any separate written agreement that expressly applies. If a provision is found unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum lawful extent and the remaining provisions will remain effective. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a business reorganization, financing, merger, sale, or transfer of Site assets, subject to applicable law.
